John L. Melnick (1935-2013)
John L. Melnick was admitted to practice in Virginia in 1961. Until his passing in August 2013, he concentrated in litigation and estate planning and administration. He was also an Assistant Commonwealth Attorney and a Commissioner in Chancery of the Circuit Court of Arlington Virginia.
John Melnick was a graduate of the University of Virginia, McIntire School of Commerce and the University of Virginia School of Law, receiving a Juris Doctor Degree. He served three terms in the Virginia House of Delegates and was a candidate for Attorney General of Virginia. He was an Associate Professor of Law at George Washington University, Washington DC. He had been a director of the Virginia Bar and President of the Arlington Bar Association.
